Exploring the future of Immersive Technology at FrameMotion Studio


The School of Computing (SoC) at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) organised an insightful and educational industrial visit to FrameMotion Studio on 11th March 2025.

Under the guidance of Ms T Tulasi Sathyabama Appalasamy (Lecturer, SoC at APU), Mr Jacob Sow Tian You (Senior Lecturer, SoC at APU), and Mr Wong Chung Wei (Senior Lecturer, SoC at APU), the visit offered an exclusive learning experience for students, aimed to explore the latest advancements in immersive technology.

Activity 1: Introduction to FrameMotion Studio

The visit commenced with a warm welcome from the FrameMotion team, who provided an overview of the company’s history, vision, and projects.

Students learned about the studio’s collaborations with industries such as gaming, education, healthcare, and entertainment, gaining insights into the role of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and motion capture technology in transforming various sectors.

On top of that, the team also shared their experiences in tackling challenges and pushing the boundaries of innovation, giving students a broader perspective on the evolving landscape of immersive media.

Activity 2: Guided Tour of the Studio

Following the introduction, students were taken on a guided tour of the studio’s cutting-edge equipment, development labs, and production spaces.

They observed the meticulous processes involved in designing, programming, and testing immersive experiences.

Moreover, the team shared valuable insights on the latest tools, industry trends, and best practices, allowing students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications.

Activity 3: Hands-On Immersive Experience

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity for students to engage in hands-on experiences with VR and AR environments.

They explored realistic urban landscapes and fantastical worlds, gaining a deeper understanding of user experience (UX) design.


Additionally, they had the chance to test motion capture gear for real-time movement tracking, witnessing firsthand how this technology is used in creating lifelike animations and interactive content.
