National Higher Education Fund / PTPTN
The National Higher Education Fund / PTPTN was established under the National Higher Education Act 1997 (Act 566) with the main objectives to provide loans to eligible students at higher learning institutions, provide saving schemes, and manage funds for higher education.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for PTPTN loan, the student has to meet the following criteria:
- Malaysia citizen.
- Age below 45 years old.
- Programme duration must be more than 1 year (Non Engineering Degree Level 3 student are not eligible to apply).
- Registered and started the intake.
- Student with Full Scholarship coverage by any Organization/Body is not eligible to apply.
- Loan is not provided for Foundation Programme.
- Loan is only available for FULL TIME programme.

Academic Requirement
Student can apply for PTPTN loan once they receive an offer letter to study at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) / Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).

Loan Application Flow
- To obtain the PTPTN Application Offer Letter, students are required to email ptptn@apu.edu.my. Please provide your full name, IC number, and intake code in the email.
- After receiving the PTPTN Application Offer Letter, students may proceed to create a CIMB account if they do not have one. Please note that only CIMB accounts can be used for PTPTN loan applications. Progression students who have applied for PTPTN before may continue using their existing CIMB account.
- Download and install the myDigital ID mobile app, complete the required details, and complete the eKYC identity verification.
- Sign up for myPTPTN (for first-time users) using your myDigital ID. Follow the on-screen instructions until completion. Please ensure your email is verified before logging in to myPTPTN.
- Register for an SSPN Prime account with a minimum deposit of RM20. To do so, log in to the myPTPTN web version at https://www.ptptn.gov.my/myptptn/. On the left menu, click:
PERKHIDMATAN > SIMPAN SSPN > PEMBUKAAN AKAUN SSPN PRIME.- Choose Jenis Akaun: DIRI SENDIRI
- Fill in parent details under WARIS
- Click SETERUSNYA, deposit RM20 using FPX online banking, and download the payment receipt.
Progression students who have applied for PTPTN before may continue using their existing SSPN account.
- Purchase a PTPTN Loan PIN number (RM5). On the left menu, click:
PERKHIDMATAN > PINJAMAN > PENDAFTARAN PERMOHONAN PINJAMAN- Pay RM5 via FPX online banking
- Download the payment receipt
- Follow the instructions, and you will be redirected to the Online Loan Application Form
- Complete the PTPTN Loan Application Form, upload the PTPTN Application Offer Letter, and submit it within the online application timeline.
- PTPTN will send a push notification and email for loan pre-approval within 5–7 days after the online application deadline.
- Students must log in to myPTPTN and check their loan application status. Once the status is LULUS (Approved), students are required to pay RM25 for LHDN stamping.
- One day after making the payment, log in to myPTPTN and digitally sign the loan agreement.
- PTPTN will process the application, and students will be able to download the Loan Agreement Copy within 3 working days after signing.
- The following is the submission schedule:
Period for Online Submission Batch May 2025 1st May until 31st May 2025 1st Batch June 2025 1st June until 30th June 2025 2nd Batch October 2025 1st October until 31st October 2025 1st Batch November 2025 1st November until 30th November 2025 2nd Batch
**Any students who joined last year intake may also apply the PTPTN online application if remaining of study duration is more than a year. Loan approval will based on remaining of study duration. -
Course Fee Payment Options
- Students who are in the process of applying for PTPTN loan shall be registered under full, semester or monthly instalment fee payment scheme. Student who choose monthly instalment scheme are required to pay the initial fee and must continue paying their monthly instalment dues as usual until PTPTN application is approved.
- By the date of PTPTN loan disbursement, if students have an overdue course fee, payments from PTPTN will be transferred to APU account via direct debit.
- Estimated time to get the first payment upon PTPTN pre-approval is around 2 months.
- PTPTN will only disburse the payment for student who obtained minimum GPA 2.00 and above for every semester.
- Student who failed to get the GPA 2.00 will not receive the PTPTN loan and will have to make own arrangement to pay for the course fees.
- Payment schedule for PTPTN disbursement is only twice a year (June & November for every year).
