Three students from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) proudly represented the university at Pertandingan Pengaturcaraan Komputer (PPKomp) 2025, a prestigious national-level programming competition that brings together Malaysia’s best programming talents.

Representing APU were:

1. Teo Jun Jia who won the Gold Medal Award, placed Top 3 in the Individual Tertiary Category, and placed Top 3 in the Group Tertiary Category.
2. Sharveenn Murthi who won the Honorary Award and placed Top 3 in the Group Tertiary Category.
3. Wong Yu En who placed Top 3 in the Group Tertiary Category.
    

Mentored by Ms Aziah Abdollah (Lecturer, School of Computing at APU), their strong teamwork and exceptional performance highlighted APU’s steady participation and commendable track record in national-level programming competitions.

A Prestigious National Competition

PPKomp 2025 brought together student programmers from primary to university level across Malaysia.

Participants had two hours to solve six programming problems, testing their skills in algorithm design, logical thinking, and coding efficiency under timed conditions.

In the Tertiary Category, participants from various institutions competed individually, with combined scores contributing to their university’s overall team ranking.

The competition continues to serve as a platform for participants to challenge themselves, sharpen their problem-solving abilities, and showcase their programming expertise on a national stage.

An Achievement to Cherish

Reflecting on their experience, the APU students shared how competing in PPKomp 2025 was both challenging and rewarding.

“The competition pushed us to think critically, adapt quickly, and approach problems from different angles.

“Working under strict time constraints tested not only our programming skills, but also our ability to stay calm and focused as a team.

“This experience has motivated us to keep improving and aim even higher in future competitions,” they said.
